Improve Accuracy
You may not realize it, but your Hoyt bow might not be shooting as well as it did when you first got it. Most experts recommend changing your string out after a year or two (depending on how often you shoot). You can also replace your stock Hoyt compound bow strings anytime if you’re looking to stop creep, peep rotation, and serving separation.

FAQs
How long do Hoyt strings last?
Hoyt recommends replacing their stock strings when visible wear is detected or every two years under normal use conditions.
How to tell if your compound bow needs a new string?
Every so often, be sure to do a thorough bow string inspection. Some light fuzzing here and there is nothing to worry about, but severe fuzzing means you need a new Hoyt compound bow string. Check for strands that are separating, fraying, stretching, or breaking. Feel the strings for dryness and/or brittleness.
You may also need a new string if your Hoyt bow is no longer performing as well as it once did. This can be difficult to detect, however, as performance degradation happens slowly over a long period of time.

How do I know what string to get for my compound bow?
For ready-to-ship strings, simply select your bow’s model and length from the list, and then select your desired colors. If you’re ordering a custom Hoyt compound bow string replacement, choose your Hoyt model and let us know your desired string length.
If you’re unsure of your desired string length, we recommend going with Hoyt’s recommendation for your model. You can usually find this information on the limb sticker. If the limb sticker isn’t there or legible, you may find the information on the Hoyt website’s tune charts.

Should I wax my bow string?
Absolutely. Waxing is the most important bow string preventive maintenance. Your bow string should feel tacky or slick at all times.

Additionally, you can extend the lifespan of your Hoyt compound bow string by storing it away from heat, direct sunlight, and arrows and other sharp objects.
