Serving string is often confused with bow string material. Although some of them use the same fibers, the products are different. This material is used to make a bow string serving, which is used to protect the bow string, increase its lifespan, and provide a better grip and release.

FAQs
What is the serving on a bow string?
A serving is simply material wrapped tightly around the bow string. The most common types of servings are:
Center Serving: Located in the middle of the string, this type of serving protects the string where the arrow nocks to the bow string. It can also give the archer a better grip and release.
End Serving: Located at the ends of the string, this type of bow string serving helps to protect the strands from being damaged by friction from cams, wheels, and limb tips.
Peep Serving: Used to secure the peep sight and prevent it from moving and rotating.
What is the best material for a peep serving?
BCY Nock Point & Peep Sight String is an excellent choice for a peep serving. Its .020” diameter is ideal for wrapping and tying servings in tight areas.
What is the thickness of a serving string?
The thickness of serving string ranges from .014" to .021". Thicker (018"-.021") materials are typically used for center servings. Thinner materials are commonly used for end and peep servings.
Should you wax the bow string serving?
No, waxing the serving material can cause dust, dirt, and other debris to accumulate, which can cause premature damage. Waxing the center serving can also cause problems with grip.
