Use the Zenith Bitzenburger Upgrade Kit to improve your fletching precision. The replacement body will fit directly into your jig and will still adjust for all three different fletching patterns. The original receiver held the arrow only by a loose fit on the nock.
Now, the new receiver for this Bitzenburger fletching jig upgrade comes with two inserts that are held into the body by a long screw that is tightened through the rear of the receiver and will hold the arrows directly. This helps prevent any slippage.
Features & Uses:
- One insert is sized to fit snuggly into any arrow that uses a G nock.
- The second insert uses pin nocks, holding the pin by the hole in the insert.
- Works with arrows that use super nocks (.246 carbon, Super Uni-bushings, etc.) by fitting the insert into the back of the arrow.
- If the pin holder becomes too loose, just gently squeeze the segments together with small pliers until it holds the pin tightly again.
- Included with this kit is an adjustable upper support plate that is mounted using the template and hardware.
- Once the arrow is mounted in the jig, the plate is adjusted to support the upper end of the shaft.
Limitations to Keep in Mind:
- This Zenith Bitzenburger Upgrade Kit does not include a sleeve for X or H nocks. But, these are available as an option, if needed.
- Older arrows with glue on nocks can still be done using the old receiver. But, this will not work with crossbow bolts.
- There was a change in the design by Bitzenburger around 25 years ago, and this upgrade may not work with fletching jigs older than that.

FAQs
How to set Bitzenburger to 4-fletch?
To select the setting on your Bitzenburger fletching jig’s nock receiver, turn the set screw #6 clockwise. The settings are:
- 3 fletch: 120º
- 4 fletch: 75ºx105 for traditional bows
- 4 fletch: 90º
Learn more here: How to Use a Bitzenburger Fletching Jig.
Is 4-fletch better than 3-fletch?
4 fletching can boost accuracy and stability because the arrow spins faster and more consistently. However, you may lose speed because of the increased weight and drag.
Are longer or shorter fletchings better?
It comes down to shooting style and personal preference. Shorter fletchings are generally recommended for skinnier arrows, providing faster speeds, less drag, and are usually best for shooting long distances. Longer fletchings are recommended for thicker arrows and provide more forgiveness and stability, for usually shorter distances.
This Zenith Bitzenburger Upgrade Kit improves the jig’s compatibility with skinny and thicker arrows, so we recommend using your Bitzenburger fletching jig upgrade as an opportunity to experiment with different arrow and fletch sizes.
Should I use right or left helical fletching?
This is a widely debated topic that comes down to personal preference. As a general rule, the fletching should typically match the direction of your arrow’s natural rotation.
Take a test shot with an unfletched arrow and pay attention to which way it spins. If it spins right, use a right helical fletching and vice versa. With that said, this Zenith Bitzenburger Upgrade Kit allows for easy fletching, so try both ways to see which works best for you.
