Choosing the Right Size
Most Hoyt models are made with several cam and limb options. That’s why it’s important that you know the length of your bow strings and cables. With so many different configurations and specs available, selecting the right Hoyt bow strings can be confusing. In most cases, you can find the information you need on the limb sticker located on your bow’s lower limb.
Our experts can help you select the right length if you have your bow’s model, limb style, cam style, and size. If you use a 2002 or older model with a soft yoke cable, the 6” yoke is not factored into the cable length. For example, if your tag says 34” cable, you would actually need to order a 40” cable. As always, if you’re not sure which are the best bow strings for your Hoyt bow, we’re happy to help.

FAQs
How to tell if a bow needs to be restrung?
We recommend that you regularly perform a thorough Bow String Inspection. Visible signs that your string is worn and needs to be replaced include fraying, excessive fuzzing, and stretched or broken strands. Additionally, you may find that your bow isn’t performing as well as it once did, which may include reduced speed and/or precision.
Even if your string doesn’t show visible signs of wear, frequent shooters should get a replacement every two years, at the bare minimum.
Do bow strings go bad if not used?
Even the highest quality Hoyt bow strings can degrade over time due to the constant tension and environmental factors, like exposure to humidity, sunlight, and temperature fluctuations. If you’re not planning on shooting for an extended period of time, you may want to remove and store the string to prevent deterioration and protect your bow from limb fatigue.
Are aftermarket bow strings better?
Absolutely! While Hoyt is a reputable brand, their strings still have standardized designs and specifications. With aftermarket strings, you have full control over their specs, including choosing custom bow string colors and your preferred bow string material and fit.
Our 5-stage pre-stretching process is another reason why we’re known for making the best bow strings for Hoyt bows. Over time, factory strings are known to stretch out, which can lead to a number of issues, including peep rotation and a loss of accuracy and power.
