How often should you change strings on a Ravin crossbow?
Stock Ravin crossbow strings should be replaced at least every two years or 400 shots, possibly sooner depending on where you shoot, your shooting style, and how you maintain your rig.

How much does it cost to have a crossbow restrung?
On average, the cost of a crossbow string replacement hovers around the $20 to $50 range. Installing a full Ravin string and cable set will most likely be around $100 to $125 or so, as the cable typically adds around $75.
It’s important to note that installation prices can vary widely depending on the crossbow itself. Many Ravin crossbows have complex designs and multiple components, so installing Ravin crossbow strings and cables may require more time and labor. Call your local shop for a quote.

Can you restring a crossbow yourself?
It’s possible, but you’ll need a crossbow-compatible bow press, like the Last Chance Archery EZ Green Crossbow Press.
If you don’t have a bow press, we recommend bringing your crossbow to a shop. Without the right gear and knowledge, the risk of injuring yourself and/or damaging your bow is too high.
