FAQs
What is the best bowstring material?
The best material comes down to personal preference and equipment. For example, the best string for a recurve or crossbow may not be ideal for a compound bow.
452X is a fantastic material that has been around for a very long time. BCY 452X bowstring material is a classic case of the old adage, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” 452X provides great speed and exceptional stability.
If we were forced to choose one best material, it would be BCY X99, as it combines the best elements of BCY 452X and 8190, resulting in a material that balances reliability, accuracy, and speed. With that said, plenty of archers swear by 452X, and we’re not going to argue!

How many shots are bow strings good for?
Rather than counting shots, we recommend that frequent shooters replace their bow strings at least every two years or when a bow string inspection reveals signs of wear.
